Obituary
James Edward Proske age 86 passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10 both at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
James E. Proske was born December 25, 1927 in Brenham to parents Glenn (McIntosh) and Friedrich Wilhelm Proske. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. On September 3, 1949 he married Mary Lou Carta at the First Christian Church in Del Rio, Texas. James was a traveling mechanic with the Southern Pacific Railroad for 43 years until he retired. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham.
Survivors include son Jim (O.J.) Proske of Salado, Tex, grandson J. Paul Proske; son Charlie Proske (Cindy) of Houston, granddaughters Amy (Adam) Becker; Molly Proske and Sally Proske; along with other relatives; special friends Darlene Fisher and Darcile Badtke and other friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Lou on August 20, 2002.
