Obituary

James Vitek, 74 of Chappell Hill, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 surrounded by his family.

James was born on October 30, 1943 to parents Cornelia (Prihoda) and Emil Vitek. He was raised in Frydek where he attended catholic school and graduated from Sealy High School. On April 30, 1966, he was united in marriage to Angeline Krolczyk at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He was a construction worker by trade, and was a founding member and volunteer fireman of the San Felipe/ Frydek VFD. He was a die-hard fan of the Houston Oilers and Texans football teams, loved hunting and fishing, especially river fishing.

James is survived by his loving family: wife Angeline; son Dwayne and Carrie Vitek; daughters Nancy and Doug Herms, Betsy and Brent Barina; grandchildren Kaley and Kullen Herms, Braden and Brycen Gaertner; step-grandchildren Justin and Lydia Cienega, Travis and Valerie Cienega, Jamie and Brooke Ebert, Scott Ebert, Clay, Cole and Cassie Barina; numerous step-great-grandchildren; siblings Gloria and Ray Mican, Shirley and Edwin Hanzelka, Alvin and Doris Vitek, Carol and Wayne Lee, Vivian and Jerry Jackson, Denise Hugo and fiance Ron Smesny; brothers-in-law Willie and Jeanette Krolczyk, Clem and Doris Krolczyk, Albin Krolczyk, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews and furry friend Duke.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary and Rosemary Vitek; parents-in-law Albin and Theresa Krolczyk; brother-in-law David Hugo and nephew Steven Krolczyk.

Pallbearers will be Kullen Herms, Kris and Kasey Krolczyk, Justin Cienega, Justin Jackson and Rick Mican. Honorary pallbearers are all his grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, May 14th from 5-7 p.m. until rosary is recited at 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, May 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials contributions are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church CCD Building Fund.
