James “Jim” Frank Bruce - Guestbook

Dear Vicki and family,
What a blessing Jim was to all of us who knew him and you! While we only saw each other periodically, there was always a warmth, laughter and when we giggled too much and too loudly, he'd grin and shake his head. What a role model of love, hard work and Christian values! He truly lived as a Child of Christ. His impact is not over and his memory will continue to live in those who came into contact with him.
May the Lord continue to bless you and hold you in the palm of His Hand.
Best wishes and with lots of prayer, love and hugs......Charlene (Charlie) Dietrich

Coach Bruce was a great guy with a sense of humor. I will never forget Coach Bruce "persuading" myself and Brad Goebel, two football jocks, to participate in Doubles at the District Tennis Tournament our senior year at Cuero High School. The day of the tournament we found out there was only one other Doubles team entered. We realized he got us out there to get him some 2nd place points for the team. May God bless you and your family for your loss.

Coach Bruce was an awesome man. I spent 4 years with him at Cuero High School and have rarely encountered an administrator with such a fun and loving personality. I also had the pleasure of learning the game of tennis under his direction. He will truly be missed by all who's lives were touched by him. My prayers are with his friends and family that he left behind. CHS Class of 1989.

Dear Bruce Family,

We were so sad to hear of your loss. However, we all have comfort in the fact Jim is walking in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Bruce, but just reading about him provides a picture of a man that walked this earth for a purpose and he is now at home. Keeping your family in our prayers.

Dear Bruce Family,
I am sure by now you know how Mr. Bruce touched so many lives. He was a great administrator to our District. He always made each person feel important... no matter what postition they held. His smile will be greatly missed. He was so kind and always had a moment to visit. I do know he is rejoicing in Heaven. His faith was so evident in his daily life. Please know we will continue to lift you all up in prayer. May the peace of the Lord be with you all!

East Bernard HIgh School is a better place because Jim Bruce was a part of it for a number of years. I was lucky that my family came to know him as a friend as well as my principal. He was admired by all he came in contact with. He was a sweet, kind man, and he will be missed.

I knew Jim while growing up and spending many hours at his house with his sister, my childhood best friend. But it was my great pleasure to see him again at Camp Bandina where we were both counselors. His faith, devotion to family, and love for children were evident in all he did. I particularly enjoyed the time we had in one-on-one conversation, catching up. I will be praying for his family, as I know that he will be greatly missed.

My prayers are with all who love Jim. I worked with him in East Bernard. He interviewed me for a theatre/speech position. I had two whole years teaching English, in Corpus Christi. I have never had a more wonderful experience than the day my husband and I sat down to VISIT with Jim. I was new to the area, newly married, and applying for a job I only whispered about in prayers. He was truly an instrument of God that day. Twelve years later, I am a theatre teacher; something I would have never imagined possible for myself. He led me down the path the Lord had placed before, giving me the courage and the chance to do what God knew was a dream in my heart. I am a happier teacher and a better person because God allowed my path to cross his. I hope I am so blessed, again, when I get to where Jim is. Welcome home, Jim, we're going to miss you.

Vicki and family,

Words seem so inadequate at a time like this. I know you will find strength in your faith and our loving Father. Although I only met Jim a couple times, it was so evident when we worked together that you two had something so very special. What a blessing that God brought the two of you together and you were able to have a wonderful life raising your children. The blessings continue with your precious grandchildren. You have so many wonderful friends and family, so please lean on them during this time. You have always been one of the truly special people that God put on this earth. I know he will take care of you. The two of you were loved by so many!

My prayers and thoughts are with you,
