Obituary

Jeffrey Dale Janner, 56, of Brenham passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on August 15, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Milton and Elvera Janner. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill. He was confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas.

He and his parents moved back to their roots in Brenham in 1981, where Jeff met his “Sweetpea”, Meg Thomason. They were joined in marriage in December 1982 and were blessed with two sons, Joel Neal Janner and Matthew Thomas Janner. Jeff was very active in coaching soccer, baseball and many other sports and activities with the boys.

Jeff owned and operated the first generation of Design Pro Signs and would have celebrated his 20th year this month. He was a master sign electrician. He worked as he lived, with integrity and a desire to be a witness for Jesus Christ in everything he did. Even in his last days he continued his mission of professing his faith to all who he came in contact with. His legacy continues with his son, Matt who now owns and operates the sign company.

Jeff loved to hunt, fish and garden with his wife, Meg. But on Tuesdays, his love was for bowling league. Jeff was a long time member of the National Bowling Association and took any opportunity there was to bowl.

Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham was his church family and he loved Sunday mornings. He served as an usher and always enjoyed getting to take some of the elderly to church services.

He is survived by his wife, Meg Thomason Janner, son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Janessa Janner. Grandsons; Hudson Neal Janner, son of Matthew and Janessa Janner.
