To the Jerry Jacob Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. JERRY WAS TRULY ONE-OF A KIND! Barbara, we are deeply saddened by the passing of your beloved husband; a wonderful loving father, grand-father & great-grandfather. We were always so happy to see your and Jerry's smiles & greetings coupled with easy conversation along the Canyon Lake Island street we all shared and love so much. May this be a celebration of a tremendous life lived to its fullest! Thank you also for being a true friend and caring neighbor to my departed mother Shirley. With deepest sympathy, your friends and neighbors, the Paul and Arlene Hillegeist Family.

Caring for Mr. Jacob “Paw” was an experience I will always hold close. He was a man who knew what he wanted—strong-willed, direct, and full of presence. In those months together, I came to respect his spirit and the standards he set for himself and others. It was a privilege to serve him and to witness the love and dedication he showed his wife Barbara each day. Please accept my sincere condolences. May the memories we all shared with Mr. Jacob bring comfort in the days ahead. May you rest assured in God’s love and may you find peace that surpasses all understanding.

My family and I are deeply saddened hearing of the passing of a beloved neighbor and gentleman. We were proud to have Jerry and Barbara as a resident of our growing Canyon Lake Island TX Subdivision. He and Barbara graced our neighborhood with their friendliness, company and great humor. In 2005 they volunteered their time and expense deep-frying enough chicken from their farm chicken inventory to feed 56 people attending our first really-big neighborhood gathering along the Canyon Lake shoreline. It was attended at that time by Comal County Sheriff, Bob Holder. Later, Barbara and Jerry opened their hearts and contributed generously to the Subdivision's future to make worthwhile commitments which are now reaping fruit today for every resident on Canyon Lake Island to enjoy. Early-on, in 2006, besides surprising us, Jerry would drop off a dozen of the famous Jacob egg inventory to my family. Jerry gave me one of his famous white-brimmed and blue-topped "Jake's Eggs" Otto Cap-branded baseball caps which I've since always wore while walking. I also wore it while mowing around my cactus patch and while attending to other lawn-manicuring details. The last time I saw Jerry in his backyard porch, sitting next to Barbara, he was stymied to see the headgear was worn to a complete frazzle. He said he would get me another hat to replace it. And he came through when (I believe it was) Lane who brought me a new one just a few months ago. It is now a treasure to remind me of such a great man who has left our presence here on earth who will always be looked up to, in heaven, as I wear the new and improved cap. My family mourns such a warm man, so we, too, join with all Jerry and Barbara's friends and relatives in mourning his loss. He will be greatly missed.
With love from our family: Charlie, Pat, Melissa, Shane and little JC.

To Mr. Jerry Jacob aka my Pop, Awh man where do I start. My spoiled old man, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for letting me be apart of your life, letting me into your home to take care of you. I gained a knowledge, confidence in myself, wisdom but most of all I gained a friend. You don’t know how I felt when you held my hand and squeezed it tight and told me you loved me and I was your good buddy. That really meant a lot it let me know and understand that I was more than a friend but family. “It ain’t bragging if it’s the truth” … We love you and will miss you Mr. Jerry Jacob until we meet again sleep well get your rest. -Jey

I know this is difficult time and will keep family in my prayers as they process their grief but celebrate the wonderful life he had. My other family growing up in Houston was his brother's family who brought the "Jake Eggs" to Houston. Dinah and I grew up like "sisters" and I remember our time visiting in Carmine with her cousins and other relatives. My parents are already in Heaven, but know they will be welcoming him with the Peace they have with our Lord.
