Jim C. Rodgers - Guestbook

Long time has passed since I last saw Jim in person. Not too long ago I searched for him only to find out that he is no longer among us. Since I am no longer in a healthy condition I wanted to contact him for a last time to chat a few words about old times. The boxing sport brought us together and this is what will stay in my memory forever. I enjoyed the training sessions with him as well as having Jim as a guest and friend in my house in Olde Oaks. My wife and me had been very proud having been invited to Cullen's baby shower by Jim at his house. I remember well the warm welcome for us.
So I sent to Jim from the bottom of my heart my last farewell. Fred from Germany

Hey Jimmy, It was a pleasure knowing you from 3rd grade until now. You were always cool in my book and I enjoyed your lifelong friendship. Thanks for being my friend during the school integration(1964-66) period of our changing world. You showed me that color wasn't an issue to you and you show me a person who needed a friend. Hey man, God was and will always be on our side. see you in the after life. Marcus

Jim, he was a special man. I know he left no stone unturned and that was evident in his excellence in teaching. He comes from great stock. His parents were close friends of my family and Jim and Cat his sister spent many evening’s learning from our parents. Jim had a very genuine personality which you would pickup very quickly. I spoke him a few years ago and Jim was so proud of his son and took the time to transfer his life experiences to Cullen. I pray that he Rest In Peace!

Dear Monica, Cullen and Jim's Family...I first met Jim when I worked for First Bank & Trust in Tomball-- I became his personal banker and friend-- we hit it off because I, too, am a SHSU Bearkat alumni. In 1994 I began work for the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce and Jim would stop by to see me at times-- most appreciated! Jim was a genuine man, a gentleman, kind-hearted, generous with his smile and he used to run, run, run...near Three Lakes along 249 when it was not a highway. I always knew that he was very much loved by his students and faculty at Tomball High School. My life was all the better knowing Jim. I am so very sorry for your great loss. My daily prayer life includes you as I ask the Holy Spirit to bring you comfort and peace beyond human understanding. In Christian Love, Bruce Hillegeist, Tomball, TX

Jim, I wish we could have talked before you went home to be with Cy, Doris and Mike. I pray that you were right in your heart with God and that he now holds you in his arms. I also am sorry I could not be there for the services and to pay my respects to your family, but I could not overcome the transportation issues on such short notice. My best wishes to your family and should they ever need anything, they only have to contact me. Rest in peace "little brother" and we will meet face to face before long.

I am still in shock over Jim's passing. He's a bigger than life kind of guy that was as solid as a rock. We had tons of laughs during our Patriots days with he and Terri. I just don't get it. I am truly sorry for Cullen, Monica and their family. You are all on my mind daily with the most sincere heartfelt condolences. Love to all.

I am blessed to have known Jim. When I was a freshman in high school he was a freshman in college. He was a lifeguard at the pool. Very kind and caring. Someone who was always there for you. I prayed so hard he would pull through for everyone, but God had other plans. Rest Easy my friend. You will be missed by all that knew you.

Jim, I know all of us are still struggling to come to terms with losing you. You were one of those men that seemed bulletproof. Big personality, big sense of humor, strong, and fiercely loyal for family and friends. That’s what made us love you, respect you, admire you. There was only 1 Jim Rodgers - there was no public face versus private face - there was no PC BS - you were always YOU, 100% genuine all the time.
I will cherish all the memories of times we spent on the baseball field, on the soccer field, camping, shooting pool, drinking beer. We shared some great times, we also shared some heartbreak. But that’s what makes a genuine friend, I knew you were always there and had my back.
Mate, it was an honor to call you friend for the past 16 years.
I will miss you, and can’t imagine this world without you.
I wish you comfort and healing in the arms of Our Father.
May you Rest In Peace mate...

My condolences to Jimmie's family. I'm very sad to hear about his passing. We grew up together, ran track in school and shared our race cars. I lost contact with Jimmie after I moved away to Florida.
He was a great person and friend I will miss him. Rest in peace (BoBo) until we meet again so we can reminisce about the old days!

So sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. He was a great man. Our family enjoyed spending years on the soccer fields together watching our sons Cullen and Carson play together. He always enjoyed hosting end of the year soccer parties and I know he always had a deep love for his family. Rest in Peace.

My memories of Jimmie go waaaaay back to when Cy ran the local Youth Club. I was teaching roller skating there and Jimmie spent part of almost every summer day with me. He was absolutely THE cutest kiddo and we had a lot of fun talking and skating. It has been a real pleasure watching him grow into such a kind and handsome man. When we lived in Brenham, Cy would keep me posted on Jimmie’s whereabouts and accomplishments!
To lose such a special person to COVID-19 is unimaginable! Please accept my most sincere condolences! May God give you strength and understanding as you grieve the loss of this good man!

I am so sorry and saddened by the loss of my dear friend. We had so many things in common. We hunted, fished, lifted weights, played golf, and taught together in Tomball. I had known him for 39 years and we were very close. We shared many things. I too lost my wife to cancer/leukemia. I pray for his family through the difficult times especially his son who I watched grow up to be a handsome young productive young man.

God bless you all. See you and my wife in heaven my friend.

We are sorry for the loss of Jim. He was taken too soon. We are so sorry that he could not beat the dreadful covid 19 virus but are very thankful that even as he suffered, he tried to educate everyone he could about about the seriousness of this disease. May God reward him richly in heaven and bring courage, peace and comfort to all of his family and friends who loved him and fought beside him through his illness. Rest in peace,Jim, you fought hard.

"Jimmy" Rodgers passed on? I could not, can not, believe this. Jimmy was a great guy, I played football with him, he'd always be encouraging, yelling " "Hooter!" Many of us cycled through his dad, Mr. "Cy" Rodgers class. Feared that man but loved him, knew he was there to help kids. Jimmy followed in his dad's footsteps. Will never forget Jimmy Arnold and Jimmy were like Mutt and Jeff, always together. Jimmy always had a laugh and a joke for you. This is hard to understand , how such a healthy man, filled with life and joy of life can pass so young? My best to Jimmy's wife and children, all of his friends and family and especially Jimmy Arnold. God bless you all, may His face shine upon you and grant you peace.

Coach was one of the main reasons I graduated high school. He let me make up hours of school time helping his classroom to get credits for days skipped. He allowed me to take his boxing classes free because my single mother couldn’t afford them. He was the most generous and funniest teachers at Tomball High School. He will be greatly missed.
