John Charles Baca

John Charles Baca, 68 of Brenham, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2021.

He was born in Brenham on December 23, 1952 to Lee Edward Baca, Sr. and LaVerne Brinkmeyer Blasingame. He attended S.P. Waltrip High School in Houston, Texas and graduated in 1975. He then joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for four years. Upon returning, he worked for General Electric in Houston until he moved to Brenham in 1984. He then worked at Blue Bell Creameries for over 30 years until he retired.

He is survived by: mother LaVerne Blasingame of Brenham; sister Alicia Baca Needham and husband Jim of Corpus Christi; brother Everett Hurst of Amarillo; nephews and nieces Clark Needham, Lauren Handlin, Kent Needham all of Houston; niece Emilee Hurst of Lubbock; nephew Ethan Hurst of College Station; and five great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lee Edward Baca, Jr., father Lee Edward Baca, Sr., and his step-father Richard Blasingame.

The family requests the wearing of masks and social distancing for visitation and graveside services.

Visitation will be Friday February 5 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Graveside services will be Saturday, February 6 at 12:30 p.m. in Prairie Lea Cemetery with Deacon Al Prescott officiating.
