Obituary

John Daniel Thibodeaux passed away at the age of 77 on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with vigil service and rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill with Rev. Jozef Musiol, SDS, JCD, as celebrant assisted by Deacon James Meshell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

John Daniel “Dan” Thibodeaux was born June 30, 1941 in Plaquemine Point, St. Landry, Louisiana to parents Colbert John Thibodeaux and Elrose Guidry. Dan was self-employed in the auto repair, welding and fabrication service. On October 12, 1997 he and Joanie Marik Correll were united in marriage in Houston, Texas. Daniel was interested in old cars and trucks, playing zodico music and loved to travel.

Surviving loving family includes wife Joanie Marik Correll; sons and daughters-in-law Ivan Thibodeaux (Toni Hines), Gregory Thibodeaux (Lisa), Eric Thibodeaux (Shanie), Ron Daniels (Sheila); step-son and step-daughter-in-law Kim K. Correll (Julia); daughters and sons-in-law Ivana Meshell (James H.), Amy Lynn Clemons (Keith); grandchildren Cara Thibodeaux, Jessica Thibodeaux, Gregory Thibodeaux, Trinity Thibodeaux, Lege Thibodeaux; Joshua Daniels, Jeremy Daniels, Jonathan Daniels, Priscilla Daniels, Isabelle Correll; brothers and sisters-in-law Herman Thibodeaux (Margaret), Norman Thibodeaux (Nancy); sisters Joyce Armstrong and Linda Craven.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents Colbert John Thibodeaux and Elrose Guidry; brothers Clifford, Andrew, Eugene, Lawrence, and Ajaston Thibodeaux; sisters Doris Comeaux, Juanita Bush, Henrietta Gordon; daughter, Gretchen Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Ivan Thibodeaux, Greg Thibodeaux, Eric Thibodeaux, Keith Clemons, Ronnie Daniels, and Kim K. Correll. Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Thibodeaux, Jr.

The family recognizes the dedication and support from: Hospice caregivers Brenda Schultz, Hailey, Jenny, McKala, Tudy, and Deborah, Clergy Jozef Musiol, SDS, JCD, Deacon James Meshell, Deacon Al Prescott, Washington County EMS and Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Brazos Valley and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church will be appreciated.
