Josephine Gomez Ramirez

Josephine Gomez Ramirez, age 98, of Brenham passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. Josephine was born on March 10, 1927, in Goliad, Texas to Dionicio and Rosalia (Gomez) Ordonez.

Josephine was a strong, God-loving woman who lived her life to serve the Lord. She found peace in tending to her many plants and flowers and spent quiet moments reading her Bible. She met her husband, Willie C. Ramirez in Goliad where they later married on November 19, 1945. They went on to have 8 children together and moved to Brenham in 1966. She raised generations with grace, grit and so much heart. Her love for her family knew no bounds. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and faithfully shared the word of the Lord with all those around her. Josephine’s heart was always open and could never turn down anyone who needed her.

Josephine joined the First Pentecostal Church in 1969 and dedicated many of her years to the church, serving the Lord in various ways.

Josephine lived a truly fulfilling life, so rich in love, and so deeply treasured.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; husband Willie C. Ramirez; daughters Rose Sherry and Yolanda Sandoval; and grandson John Nowak, Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Edolina Rodriguez, Willie Ramirez Jr., Christina Cruz, Maria (Victor) Hurtado, Danny Ramirez, Johnny (Mele) Ramirez, and Rosa (Jose) Ortiz and 32 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 8:00am until 7:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel, with family present from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

Funeral services for Josephine will be Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10:00am at First Pentecostal Church of Brenham, 1001 Prairie Lea Street, Brenham, Texas 77833 with Pastor Merlin Swan officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers are Joe Perez Jr., Willie Ramirez III, Jason Perez, James Lee Rodriguez, Joshua Clay, Willie Ortiz, Daniel Ramirez, and Jose Ortiz.
