Obituary

Judy Kieke, 73 of Brenham, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Judy was born April 12, 1948 in Brenham to parents Wilbert and Bernice (Borchardt) Eickhoff. She was active in Girl Scouts. Judy attended Brenham schools and was a graduate of Brenham High School, Class of 1966. On August 16, 1985, Judy married Larry Kieke at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. She was a working mom, employed by Brenham Office Supply for several years with later years doing outside sales. Later, she worked at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation in medical records. Judy also worked at Faith Mission and at Washington County Senior Center. One of her main joys was her only grandchild, Brianna who she was extremely proud of.

Judy was a social butterfly, much loved by family and friends for her lively personality and sincere concern for others. She and Larry enjoyed playing Pitch, country western dancing and traveling with her parents to Las Vegas and Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Christopher Herzog (Jan. 2017), parents-in-law Edwin and Anita Kieke, and sister-in-law Janice Kieke.

Surviving family includes husband Larry Kieke, daughter Wendy Horak and husband Brian, granddaughter Brianna Horak, brother Jimmy Eickhoff and wife Betty, sister Janie Krebs and husband Derrell, brother-in-law Jerry Kieke, sister-in-law Mary Lueckemeyer and husband Daryl, along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 20th from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Geleske officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Darrell Blum, Marvin Spreen, Joey Eickhoff, Chance Wilkerson, Josh Sulik, Kyle Lueckemeyer and Don Lee Studhalter. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ron and Rebecca Mertz, Allison Crowson, Nancy Krause, Gertrude Schroeder, Montey and Cindy Giebler.

Memorials are requested to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
