Kevin (Khuoung) Tran

Kevin (Khuong) Tran was born on March 20, 1963, in Saigon, Vietnam. He was the second youngest child out of 10 from his mother Oanh (Nguyen) Tran and father Thinh Tran. Kevin migrated to America alongside most of his siblings and lived in various states; two of his favorites being Hawaii and Texas.

He graduated high school in the states and attended college learning the culinary arts. Kevin was a chef at heart and loved to cook. Through food he met his wife, Theary Crystal Lor, in 2006 and fell in love at first sight. He gained 4 children in the process and had his beautiful daughter, Keanna Lor Tran, not long after in June 2007. Kevin and his family moved closer to Brenham in 2008 where he helped managed and cooked at Sealand for around 10 years. His love for the culinary arts led him to manage various food establishments and he eventually ended up at Appel Ford in 2018, where he found his niche for selling cars and made lifelong friends along the way. Kevin loved spending time and cooking with family and friends, especially at the beach. He was a caring and generous husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was always there to lend a helping hand and made sure everybody was taken care of regardless of his circumstances.

He was the type of man to say exactly what was on his mind, with no filter, and was the life of the party! He loved people, he loved life and he loved sharing new experiences, whether it be inviting you to try his fusion cuisines or doing something spontaneous like cooking a baby goat. His favorite past times besides cooking was hosting cookouts, watching sports where he regularly attended his sons’ sports games to show his support, and fishing. Kevin lived life on his own terms and did whatever he wanted, such as rocking out to the Beatles and Eagles, where you can find him dancing-- because he filled his life and the life of others with rhythm and joy.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Oanh (Nguyen) Tran, Thinh Tran, Brother Hoi Nguyen, Sister Nga Tran, Father-in-Law, Ryan Momm, and granddaughter Xiomara Pastrana-Proeung.

He is survived by his wife Theary Crystal Lor; children Brenda Smith, Jimmy Muy, Matthew Proeung, Christopher Proeung, Keanna Lor Tran; Siblings; Khoi Tran, Nguyet Tran, Anh Tran, Tuyet Tran, Khanh Tran, granddaughter Dalary Daleyeza Pastrana and many beloved nephews, nieces, and in laws
