Lenora Louise Koester

Lenora Louise Koester, 96 of Brenham, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26th from 5-7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27th at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Lenora was born September 14, 1922 in Brenham, to parents Willie and Augusta (Pieper) Koester. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. Lenora was a graduate of Brenham High School. As a licensed vocation nurse, she worked at St. Jude Hospital and 27 years at the Brenham Rest Home.

Lenora was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She sang in the choir and was a member of Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Dennis and a sister Alice who both died in infancy.

Surviving family includes: cousins, Carolyn Ann Sander, Martha McCafferty and Jackie Weber Petrie; special friends like family members, Herbert and Pat Hughes, and their sons Scott, Kelley and O’Brien.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Hughes, Kelley Hughes, O’Brien Hughes, John Goeke, Gene Fuelberg andWade Bage. Honorary pallbearers will be: Herbert Hughes and DeWane Goeke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Choir.
