Obituary

On the evening of March 17, 2015, Leroy Moehlmann passed away as a result of an accident at home. He was 68 years old.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 19 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 20 at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Moehlmann, Kris Baker, Walter Schulz Jr., Larry Schulz, Alan Hutson, Dennis Moehlmann, Marvin Koehne and Mark Jensen.

Leroy was born September 15, 1946 in Independence, Texas. He was the fourth child of August Moehlmann and Emma Koehne Moehlmann. Leroy was employed as a mechanic and shop foreman at Washington County Tractor Company for 45 years. Leroy had a curious mind and true mechanical ability. Leroy loved working outdoors and tinkering with all sorts of projects. He was a talented mechanic who often diagnosed issues over the phone from the customer’s description alone. Leroy was a gifted gardener and carpenter. He also loved growing grapes and making wine. His greatest joy in life was playing with his four grandchildren.

Leroy was a beloved husband of 45 years to Shirley Moehlmann; father of Robbie and wife Maura Moehlmann, Rachelle and husband Kris Baker; grandfather of Molly and Henry Moehlmann, Clara and Audrey Baker. Leroy is also survived by his brothers Clarence and his wife Shirley Moehlmann and Jones and his wife Lois Moehlmann, brothers-in-law Walter and his wife Kim Schulz, Larry and his wife Jody Schulz, sister-in-law Kathy and her husband Clifford Miller, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Walter and Alberta Schulz, his sister Emma Jean Roese and niece Becky Moehlmann.

Memorials are requested to: Christ Lutheran Church, 1104 Carlee Drive, Brenham, Texas.
