Lorena Lewis

Technical Sergeant Lorena Lewis, USAF age 32, passed away July 10, 2008, just a few weeks after giving birth to a beautiful baby boy.

She was born December 7, 1975 in Giddings, Texas, but grew up and spent most of her life in Brenham. She enlisted in the Air Force in 1994 and spent 14 years faithfully serving her country. She was a loving and committed wife, and a caring, devoted, compassionate, loving mother. She hoped to one day retire from military service to be a full time mother to her children. She left this earth unexpectedly, but will always remain with us in our hearts.

Lorena is survived by: her husband, Johnathan Lewis; her sons, Vicente and Samuel Lewis; her parents, Francisco and Guadalupe Varela; her sisters, Christina Munoz and husband Elmer, Elizabeth O’Harris and husband Stephen and Ruth Varela; her brothers, Jose Varela and wife Mariaelena, Danny Varela and wife Laura and Jesus Varela; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2008 from 6- 8 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Chappell Hill First Baptist Church, 9120 Poplar St., Chappell Hill, Texas 77426. Rev. David Beckworth will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill.

A memorial service for Technical Sergeant Lewis will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Randolph Air Force Base Theater.
