Obituary

Loretta Earl (Thomas) Wamble was born December 29, 1948, to Lealus Thomas and Betty (Briscoe) Thomas in Ringgold, Louisiana. She was the oldest of seven children. She dedicated her life to Christ at the age of 12.

She was educated in the Oklahoma public school system, graduating from Douglass Sr. High School in 1967.

On July 25, 1970, she married the love of her life, Marcus L. Wamble. They were married for 56 years. God blessed this union with three beautiful children: Matthew, Marty and Renee. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: four grandsons and four granddaughters.

Loretta always had a passion for higher education and improving herself. She graduated in several fields of study, earning an associate degree in business management, another in health science, and certificates of completion from several programs.

After retiring in 2005 as a substitute teacher in CFISD in Houston, Texas, she embarked on a new passion of hers: sewing, arts and crafts, and quilting. Loretta made all kinds of useful and fun items for her family and friends. She loved serving in her church and community, reading, and traveling. She had high esteem for one of her favorite animals, the white-tailed deer.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lealus Thomas; her mother, Betty (Briscoe) Thomas; one brother, Lee Anthony Thomas; and a sister, Madge Smith, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her three children: Matthew (wife-Lori), Marty (wife-Kamala), Keisha Renee, all residing in Texas; eight grandchildren: Hannah, Peyton, Elise, Azarel, Makyven, Eaden, Jaelin and Dauphne. One brother, Benjamin Thomas (wife - Linda) three sisters, Marita Lacey, Elaine Alexander (husband - Dale), and Sharon Kennedy; all residing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life honoring Loretta will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Redeemer Church, 2111 South Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Texas 77833.

Loretta leaves a lasting legacy of faith, love, and service, reflected in the family she cherished and the lives she touched. Her generous spirit, creativity, and lifelong passion for learning will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Proverbs 3: 5-7 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
