Lorinz "Fritz" Meschwitz

Lorinz “Fritz” Meschwitz, 86, passed away on April 17, 2021. Lorinz was born April 8, 1935 in Brenham, Texas to Ella (Kwiatkowski) and John Meschwitz.

Lorinz, known to many as “Fritz”, is described as a good man who loved living life. He worked on a ranch for many years and loved doing so. He also worked for Blinn College and retired from there. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and was a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns! He very much valued his family and friends and would drop everything if he knew they needed him and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Lorinz is preceded in death by his parents; Ella and John Meschwitz, his 6 sisters and 2 brothers, granddaughter; Monica Perez, and 4 nephews. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary (Martinez) Meschwitz, his children; Davey Meschwitz (Mary), Nancy Castaneda (Danny), sister; Josephine Ligues, grandchildren; DJ Meschwitz (Crystal), Amber Madden (Randy) and Jessica Perez and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 21, from 8 am to 7 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6pm and family will be present from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 22, at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 701 Church St., Brenham, Texas with the burial to follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Anthony Ligues, Jett Ligues, TJ Martinez, Brandon Coghlan, Pat Draehn and Bobby Weige.
