Obituary

Louise Quebe Neumann died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at a local nursing home.

Mrs. Neumann was born May 27, 1917, in the Prairie Hill Community of Washington County to Charlie and Alma Ehlert Quebe. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill where she was also confirmed on March 20, 1932 by the Rev. P. Gogolin. Louise was a member of the graduating Class of 1936 of Brenham High School and also a graduate of Blinn College in 1938. She taught school and was the principal of Williams School in Washington County.

Louise married LeeRoy Neumann on September 21, 1940 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. They made their home near Brenham where they worked in farming and ranching until their retirement. Louise was a homemaker, excellent seamstress, and cared for her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and dancing and playing cards with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Neumann are members of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Neumann is survived by her husband of almost 68 years, LeeRoy, and their two children, Warner L. Neumann and LaNell Arndt and husband, Bobby. She is also survived by her grandchildren,Tammy and her husband Braidy Moulder, Jeff Arndt and his wife Lexie, and great grandchildren, Garrett Andrew Moulder, Hannah Elizabeth Moulder, Cody Tyler McCourt, Ethan Lee Arndt and Lexie Allison Arndt. She is also survived by her sister, Ella Mae Quebe, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charlie H. Quebe, and sisters Alma Pape, Lillian Becker, Laura Quebe, Erna Quebe, Gladys Quebe Schroeder, and Ora Nell Quebe.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Rev. Lawrence Bade will officiate. Burial will follow at the Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Donald Schroeder, Russell Schroeder, H. C. Becker, Mike Grunder, Greg Gaskamp and Emery Schulz.
