Lucile Bockhorn

Lucile E. Bockhorn, 90, the widow of Herbert C. Bockhorn passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

Visitation will be from 8am to7pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022 with family present from 5pm to 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem with Rev. Evan Cameron officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Lucile was born in Brenham, Washington County, Texas on June 20, 1931, the daughter of Arno and Ella (Loesch) Hopmann. Lucile was baptized on July 12, 1931 at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. M. C. Hoermann. She was confirmed on January 28, 1945 at St. James by Rev. H.T. Flachmeier. Lucile was united in marriage to Herbert C. Bockhorn on February 15, 1953 at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. M. C. Hoermann. Lucile was a life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Lucile attended New Wehdem School. Lucile retired in 1992 from the Housekeeping Department of the former Trinity Medical Center. Lucile enjoyed decorating her home for all the seasonal holidays, but her favorite was to decorate for Christmas. She looked forward to having her granddaughters and great-grandchildren over to bake and decorate their traditional Christmas sugar cookies. But most of all, Lucile looked forward to the weekly Sunday evening family get together at her home.

Lucile is survived by her loving family; Children, Shirley and Mark Alford, Robert and Lynn Bockhorn, and Ronnie and Suzanne Bockhorn all of Brenham. Grandchildren, Kim Kaliszewski, Karen and Greg Cooper, Jennifer and Nate Harris, Stacey Bockhorn and Joe Hinton, Jill and Cody Coble, Lauren and Jeremy Buckley and Taylor Bockhorn and fiancé Cody Jankowski. Great Grandchildren, Kaden Birkelbach, Emma Hinton, Colt Coble, Jackson Buckley, Zachary Cooper, Lane Coble, Robert Harris, Lukas Buckley and Amelia Harris. Lucile is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucile was preceded in death by her husband Herbert C. Bockhorn; parents, parents-in-law, son-in-law Joe Kaliszewski, Jr., sisters and brothers-in-law Ella Mae Schatz (Ruben), Elsie Schumacher (Paul) and Frances Menn (Ernest).

Serving as pallbearers will be: Cody Coble, Cody Jankowski, Nate Harris, Greg Cooper, Jeremy Buckley, Joe Hinton, Kaden Birkelbach and Paul Menn.

Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church or a Charity of Choice.
