Obituary

Mabel Ella Anton (Hurtig) Winkelmann, age 99 passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 in Brenham,Texas.

Mabel daughter of Willis and Roxie (Struckmeyer) Anton was born in Caldwell County, Texas on February 21,1918. She was baptized April 21, 1918 by Rev. C. Ziehe at Maxwell, Texas. She came to Washington County in December 1924, attended Salem School, was confirmed on March 29,1937 by Rev. William Utesch and married December 3,1938 To Robert Hurtig by Rev. William Utesch, and moving to Bleiblerville, Texas the same year.

Her husband Robert Hurtig preceded her in death on May 4,1968.
She married A.C. Winkelmann on March 20,1976 and he preceded her in death on
May 4,1998.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Ronnie and Barbara Hurtig; daughter Vernell (Nellie) Eben, grandchildren Lorne and Lori Eben, Brian and Lisa Eben, Mary Eben, Robert (Butch) and Jennifer Hurtig, Ronda and Darrel Pesl, and Reese and Rachel Hurtig,great-grandchildren; Deena and Josh Brending, Laura Eben, Lance Eben, Lacy and Alyssa Sharp, Travor Hurtig, Mitchell Eben, Dillin Pesl, Dustin Pesl,great-great grandson; Connor Brending, step-daughters; Vernice and Charles Kokemor,and Carol and Ray Zinglemann,step-grandchildren; Mark Kokemor, Donna and Brad Lankford, Misty Zingelmann, and Trish and DrarrinSurvik; sister-in-law’s Hildgard Brinkmeyer, Dolores Meier, Ruby Emshoff, half-sisters; Hilda Dzenowski and Doris Dzenowski, numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her Grand parents,Parents, Both husbands,Grandson Terry Eben, Son- in–law Leslie Eben, half sisters, half brothers,and sister Dorotha Anton, sister-in-laws and brother-in-law’s; Leona and John Spiess, Erwin and Lilly Winkelmann,Elton Emshoff, Alvin Brinkmeyer and Liburn Meier.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Welcome Lutheran Church, 13636 FM 109 Brenham, Texas with Pastor John R. Sutton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Welcome Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
