Margie Kovar - Guestbook

Of the many years of visiting with Margie during my employment at The Banner-Press, I don't think I ever saw Margie without a smile on her face. I was shocked to hear that she had been sick for a long time. She was a strong person and I admire her for always having a smile on her face.

My sincerest condolences to all of Margie's family, friends, and colleagues (in other words, her extended family).

Working from the College Station and Bryan campuses of Blinn as I did, and but occasional trips to the Brenham campus, I encountered Margie only from time to time during my 30 years with Blinn, generally when she was the go-to person for some question over Blinn, or at some social event. However, she always came across as though whomever she was talking to was the most important matter to her at the immediate moment. Her demeanor was always friendly and utmost professional, as you would want the public face of Blinn to be.

As others have said, she will be missed.

Margie was one of the most courageous people I know. She faced her illness with determination and strength. What wonderful things she did with her life and for others;an example for all of us. My prayers are with you all as we remember Margie.

Margie was an example to Greg and me of hard work, dedication, and service. We share with her a love for Blinn College and Texas A&M University, and we will never forget her service to Blinn.

We will dearly miss Margie, and we pray for God's peace for her family.

Margie was like a second mother to me she watched me grow up. She really was a joy to be around and it was an honor to have known such and accomplished and loving woman.

We are so sad to hear of Margie's passing, but it is with great fondness that we remember her. She is and will continue to be a dear person that we will remember when we think of our wonderful years in Brenham. It is truly a loss for that community. Our thoughts are with you all and her family.

I had the chance to get to know Margie really well when I worked as a news reporter for KULF, and renewed that friendship this past year when I took over the public address announcing duties for the various sports at Blinn College. Margie joined us in the pressbox, and talked about sports more intelligently than most men that I know. She was so in to being a part of that Blinn College experience that a lot of times you couldn't even tell that there was anything wrong. Her presence and also her friendship will definitely be missed.

What a profound loss. Margie was so multi-talented and such a vital part of the Brenham community. I don't think she ever fully realized how admired and respected she was in her various capacities. In recent years, she was such an inspiration through her illness...always a courageous and graceful lady. A light has gone out in Brenham...she will be missed.

Although I haven't seen Margie in several years, I remember her as being an inspiration to her schools and community. My condolences go out to her family and co-workers.

Margie was a great friend and neighbor while we were in Brenham.She was so helpful in anything that was asked of her.She was also very good with our kids when they were little.We enjoyed seeing her when we did make it back to Brenham.She will be missed.

Mary and I will miss the great friendship we shared with Margie. She was an outstanding lady who was compassionate about Blinn College, Texas A&M University, and Brenham. She enjoyed helping and working with others as she truly lived the Rotary Motto of "Service Above Self".

It is remarkable indeed, that one would spend their life in the service of others. This is what Margie did. Talented, intelligent and hard working, not on behalf of herself, but for the human family. We will miss her.

Margie was always helping others and helping the community, Blinn, and various groups and individuals through her numerous volunteer efforts. I met Margie many years ago at when she worked for the Banner-Press and she was always outgoing and giving.
