Marie Dallmeyer Langner, 99, died Friday, May 14, 2004 in New Braunfels, Texas.
Marie was born January 16, 1905 in Burton, Texas, one of five children to William and Mary Dallmeyer. Marie graduated from the University of Texas in the 1920s, with a degree in elementary education. She taught school for 10 years before marrying Charles A.G. Langner on May 30, 1937. The Langners lived in Brownsville, Texas, where he practiced medicine. Following his service in World War II, Dr. Langner died in an airplane crash. Marie then moved to Seguin, Texas, where she devoted her life to raising her three children. She later moved to Brenham, Texas and finally to New Braunfels, Texas, where she lived her last few years in the Alterra Sterling House care facility. Each of these moves was made to be closer to her family. Throughout her life, Marie was a member of the Lutheran church and served in many capacities. She taught school in Seguin and was a member of the American Association of University Women.
Marie Langner is survived by her three children, Carl Langner and wife Ann of Canyon Lake, Lisa Perrine and husband Cal of Canyon Lake and Bill Langner and wife Nancy of Austin and Canyon Lake; nine grandchildren; and sister-in-law Neville Dallmeyer of Brenham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Carl and Wilfred, who died at young ages, brother Erwin, sister Maybelle, and numerous in-laws.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 2 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Blair Lundborg officiating. A private family committal will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton, Texas.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church building fund.
