Mary Jo Stevens

Mary Jo (Boeer) Stevens passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023 at her residence in Brenham, Texas. Mary Jo was born on November 30, 1944 to Hilbert Boeer and Mary (Watzlavick) Boeer in Schulenburg, Texas.

She spent most of her young life in Pasadena, Texas with her parents, two sisters and a brother. She attended the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas where she graduated high school in 1964. While at the Texas School for the Deaf she qualified as a hurdler for the CISS Tenth International Games for the Deaf in Washington, DC. She was elected to the Texas School for the Deaf Hall of Fame in 2005.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Theresa Boeer and a nephew, Matthew Boeer. She is survived by her son, Ron Reid, sister and husband - Carol and Willie Farmer, one brother and his wife - William and Kathy Boeer. She is also survived by nephew Shawn Farmer, and nieces Brandi Irick and Marla Boeer, numerous great nephews and nieces as well as many friends and relatives.

Mary Jo is described by many friends and neighbors as a sweet and kind person. She will be truly missed. There is no service pending but there will be a private memorial with her family held at a date to be determined. Her family thanks her many friends for their condolences and prayers during this difficult time.
