Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Kovar Kwiatkowski, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021. Mary was born on December 11, 1946 in Caldwell, Texas to Robert and Theresa Kovar.

Mary was a graduate of Dime Box High School and earned her online Writing Certification from University of Phoenix. She began her working career as a nurse’s aide and then went to work at Blue Bell Creameries where she spent 32 years before retiring and managed to have an online business from 2005-2021 called “Angelical Gifts”.

Mary loved baking, giving to and helping others, gardening, fishing, walking, watching hummingbirds, writing and just life in general. She met her life goal though when she wrote and had a children’s book published in 2016. This children’s book is available for purchase on Amazon and is titled, “Peter Rabbit’s Surprise Birthday Party” and it’s under her author name of Mary Elizabeth Kovar.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers; Thomas and Bob Kovar. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Alphonse Kwiatkowski, her children; Liz Kainer, John Kwiatkowski, and Kathryn Tamez and husband Demetrio, her grandchildren; Lauren and Jared Kainer and Blaine Tamez and her brother; Daniel Kovar.

A visitation for Mary will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, TX. Members of the family will be here to receive friends in two hour increments on Sunday. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 701 Church St. Brenham , TX, beginning with the reciting of the rosary at 2:00 pm and the mass will begin at 3:00 pm. A private interment will immediately follow the mass.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jared Kainer, Blaine Tamez and Demetrio Tamez. Honorary pallbearer will be: Lauren Kainer.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to help cover medical and funeral expenses.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel and online condolences for the family may be left at www.brenhammemorialchapel.com. Due to medically fragile family members we are asking that you please wear a mask, social distance and please do not shake hands with any family members that may be present in our facility or at the church.
