Obituary

Matthew Boeer, 25, of Brenham, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 in Houston, TX.

Matt was born on May 1, 1983 in Temple, Texas to William “Bill” and Kathy Head Boeer. Matt was baptized in August 1983 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple, Texas by Father Arthur Michalak and later confirmed in 1999 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham by Monsignor Ralph Brennan. He enjoyed playing soccer and was a defensive back for Brenham High School when they finished as runner-up in the state finals in 2001. He was a member of the high school band for 4 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. While attending Southwestern University, Matt won a Brown Scholarship for academic achievement; he founded the Garden Club; started Community First Consultants (a group that brought local businesses together to help non-for-profit organizations); Matt also played intramural soccer and was a head Resident Assistant (RA). On July 22, 2006 Reverend Milton Maly married Matt to Erin Elizabeth Bennett in Brenham, Texas. He was employed as an accountant for Pannell Kerr Forster (PKF) Accounting Firm. Matt was a member of the Knights of Columbus, #3287of Brenham.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Hilbert and Mary Boeer and an aunt Theresa Boeer.

Matt is survived by his wife Erin Boeer of Brenham; parents Bill and Kathy Boeer of Brenham; sister Marla Gail Boeer of Brenham; grandparents Drexel and Dorothy Head of Liberty, Mississippi; father-in-law and mother-in-law Billy and Leslie Bennett of Brenham; sister-in-law Emilie Bennett of Brenham; uncles and aunts David and Judy Head of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Melvin and Debbie Head of Beaumont, Willie and Carol Farmer of Bellville, Mary Jo Stevens of Weimar; numerous great aunts and uncles; first cousins Brandi Farmer, Shawn and Carolyn Farmer, Ronnie Stevens, Melody and Peter Sullivan, Keith Head, Mandy Head, Amy Head, Jason and Mindy Head, Jennifer Head, Blake White; and numerous extended family.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008 with the Knights of Columbus reciting the rosary beginning at 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral mass will be Monday, September 1, 2008 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Benedict Zientek as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Keith Head, Jordan Guidry, Andrew Maly, Ray Altman, Tom Troller, Adam Spiess, John Dosser, Christof Straub, Pierre Mille, Austin Hill.
