Max S. Zientek

Max S. Zientek, age 89, of Brenham passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in a Houston Hospital.

Max was born August 2, 1916 to Anton and Katherine Jankowski Zientek in Chappell Hill and where he attended school. On October 27, 1937 he married Gertrude Cegielski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill. Max was a retired foreman for Mosher Steel and later Sparkler Steel Companies. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham.

His parents and wife Gertrude preceded him in death.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law Daniel and Barbara Zientek, Pete and Clara Zientek all of Houston; daughter and son-in-law Angeline and Albin Januszewski of Houston; sister Regina Jozwiak of Houston; 10 grandchildren Tommy and Kim Januszewski of Brenham, Diane and Steve Vento, Tina and Michael Lahrmann, John and Tracey Zientek, Michael Zientek and Christopher Zientek all of Houston, Dale and Karen Zientek, Larry and Pam Zientek, Becky and Keith Anderson all of Cypress and Debbie Zientek of Houston and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Bill Januszewski at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 20 Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father David Ivey as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Tommy Januszewski, John, Michael, Chris, Dale and Larry Zientek.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
