John and Dottie: God has gained a really special angel ! Milly was the perfect Southern lady, possessing all the grace and charm of the great ladies who came before her. I adored hearing Milly talk! No one could say “Honey” or “Sugah” quite like she could. Did you know that she and my mother (Betty Yoakum) had their phone conversations at 4:00 AM ? Those two shared a birthday and so many traits. Mother is already missing her Milly stories!
May our Heavenly Father give you strength and lovely memories of this beautiful, charming lady.

I was looking through my Facebook today to show my sister's part time caregiver a video of hummingbirds that swarmed our feeders one year. While looking for it, I came across a video about cardinals representing loved ones that have passed and that when you see one, they are visiting you. This was so appropriate at this time due to Aunt Milly''s passing and her love of birds. Right after finding this video today and showing it to my sister, Cynthia, I looked out my front door to find two cardinals (one male and one female) on our circular drive. It gave me comfort.

I will always remember sitting on her back sunroom, visiting with her and watching the birds that congregated just outside.

I have many fond memories of "Miss Milly Ann" as we so affectionately called her. She was my Godmother and a true dear friend to my family. I will always remember visiting her and Mr. BoBo at Christmas and dinner parties, her antique store, Chappell Hill Festivals and when My Dad and Mr. Bo would leave to go on their yearly deer hunting trip to Querro,Tx.
Her voice just made you want to hang on every word, such an interesting, gracious lady with southern charm. I will miss her, but know that she and Mr. Bo and Mom and Dad are together again!

Great Aunt Milly Ann was such a wonderful lady and made such an impression on me. Driving with my mother, Sharon England Weinberg, on road trips to see Aunt Milly Ann was a treat. Milly always met Mom and I with warm hospitality. She’d pull out family pictures and genealogy documents that covered her stately dining room table and tell stories for hours.

It took a few years, but she got me interested in family genealogy and shared so much wisdom. I loved calling her when I discovered old news articles online about long gone relatives that gave us some new insight into their lives and I can hear her say, “Sugar, that’s just wonderful.”

I admired her so much and enjoyed every hour I was lucky enough to spend in her presence. My deepest condolences to John, Dottie and everyone who loved her.

We have lost a graceful, wise, and caring person, who worked hard to preserve Chappell Hill’s history. Millie loved the land and all that God’s nature gave us. We will miss our dear friend and neighbor. May God welcome Milly into his kingdom and bless her. Our deepest sympathy to the Schaer family.
