Obituary
Minerva Inez Reese Rymer, 91 of Brenham, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009.
Inez was born November 20, 1917 to Hoffman and Kathyrine (Dodd) Reese in the Semproneious Community of Austin County, Texas. In 1922, she and her family moved to Brenham. Inez was a 1936 graduate of Brenham High School. That same year, she was queen of the Brenham Maifest with Clint Anderson as her king. Their Maifest celebrated the Centennial of Texas Independence. While working in Austin, Inez met Fred R. Rymer. They married in 1947 and made their home in Austin. She was a secretary and later a teacher’s aide at several private schools. In November 2007, she took residence at Trinity Care Center.
Inez had a special gift of making people happy, with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, sisters Erette Reese Red, Martha Reese Sterling, brother K. Hoffman Reese, nephews James Reese Jones, Hoffman Landes Reese.
Her loving family includes: daughter, Sandra Kathleen Rymer of Austin; sister, Kathyrine Reese Jones of Brenham; nieces and nephews, Kathyrine “Khaki” Simank of Shreveport, Louisianna, LeGrand and Dr. Larry Spradley of South Lake, Texas, Sally Jones of Brenham, Renee and Dr. Doug Duncan of Marshall, Bryan and Britney Reese of Dallas.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Prairie Lea Cemetery with Rev. Dale Chance officiating.
