Obituary

Myron G. Masters, Sr., 77, of Brenham passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in College Station Medical Center.

Myron was born November 24, 1930 in Perry, Oklahoma to Roy and Essie Goff Masters and attended Mark Tree High School in Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On June 1, 1959 he married Margie Phillips in Rosenberg. He was a retired chemical operator after thirty-seven years of employment with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. of Houston. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Brenham. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting.

His parents, son Barney Nathan Masters, twin brother Byron D. Masters, brothers Gilbert Masters and Albert Masters and sister Eleanora Allred preceded him in death.

Survivors include: wife Margie Masters of Brenham; son Myron Gene Masters, Jr. of Guthrie, Okla.; daughters Martha Gail and husband Tim Laughlin of Memphis, Tenn. and Patty Bray of Hempstead; grandchildren Lloyd Carroll, Autumn and Chris Hudman, Misty and Steven Williams, Jessie and Delores Young; great-grandchildren Nathan Carroll, Nathan and Chelsea Hudman, Madison Gallardo, Katherine Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law Howard and Dicey Masters, Roy and Betty Masters, Lorin and Judy Masters; sisters Adah Holcombe, Laurine Hoard, Harriett Ellis, Juanita Stevens; brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and LaVette Phillips; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2008 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darren Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Fellowship Baptist Church or charity of choice.
