Obituary

Norman Herbert Prenzler passed away Friday, July 7, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Norman was born September 29, 1936, in Burton, Texas, to Fritz and Norma Kasten Prenzler. He was baptized December 27, 1936 by Rev. E. Eiben and confirmed March 18, 1951 by Rev. E. H. Schwengel both in St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Norman graduated from Burton High School, attended Blinn College and graduated from The University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. He was a pharmacist at Roy Wiese Pharmacy and Medi-Save Pharmacies. In 1977 he opened Norman’s Pharmacy which he operated until August 31, 1999, when he sold the pharmacy after 41 years as a pharmacist.

On June 7, 1959, he was married to Rose Marie Mutscher at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas by Rev. Arnold Mueller.

Norman was a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1959 where he served as an Elder and Financial Secretary.

He was also a member of the Texas Pharmaceutical Association, the Brazos Valley Pharmaceutical Association, The University of Texas Ex-Students Association, Blinn College Ex-Students Association and the Farm Bureau.

He served as a Commission Member of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Brenham from1966 – 1971, was a former member of the Lions Club and served as a member of the Medical Assistance Program Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister-in-law F. C. and Tracy Prenzler.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 47 years, Rose Marie Prenzler; son and daughter-in-law, Don Allen and Marie Prenzler; two grandsons, Matthew Allen Prenzler and Nicholas Don Prenzler all of Brenham. He is also survived by: his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Meta Mutscher; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sarita Mutscher all of Brenham; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne Kuenstler of Austin; one niece and three nephews, Debbie Witcher and husband Burt of Austin, Gary Prenzler of Victoria, Kevin Mutscher and wife Renee of Brenham, Brian Kuenstler of Houston; one uncle, Gus Korthauer; two aunts, Hulda Korthauer and Oleta Prenzler; numerous cousins and many friends.

His enjoyment in his retirement was going to his farm in Burton, watching his two grandsons participate in sports and playing cards in his card club.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2006 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2006 in Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Jacobs and Rev. William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
