Obituary
Ora Nell Neumann Kaase age 91 of Brenham passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at Scott & White Hospital-Brenham.
Ora Nell was born on August 14, 1921 in the Kenny Community of Austin County, Texas, the daughter of Emil and Meta Voswinkel Neumann. Ora Nell was baptized in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, Texas. She was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome, Texas by Pastor I.M. Mansur. On December 30, 1939 she was married to Edgar Kaase in Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome, Texas by Pastor I.M. Mansur.
Ora Nell was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family. She was employed as a house keeper at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Brenham, Texas until her retirement. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, reading, and visiting with her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Meta Voswinkel Neumann, husband Edgar Kaase, four brothers Harry Neumann, Arthur Neumann, Theodore Neumann, Eddie Neumann and sister Agnes Mewis.
She is survived by: one brother Wilfred Neumann; two daughters Idell Jean Kaase Mertz and husband Daniel Mertz and Peggy Joyce Kaase Schmidt and husband Delbert Schmidt; grandchildren DeAndra Brandt and husband Luke Brandt, Kim Ables and husband Chris Ables, and Keith Schmidt and wife Renee Schmidt; great-grandchildren Randa Braune, Chelsea Braune, Trevor Braune, Taylor Knode, Tanner Knode, and Kennedy Ables.
Special thanks to Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation staff, Dr. Nathan Simons, Hospice Brazos Valley, and Scott & White Hospital-Brenham.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, January 6th in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, January 7th in Welcome Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Groseclose, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Schmidt, Kenneth Kaase, Trevor Braune, Luke Brandt, Bobby Neumann and Chris Ables. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Kaase, Clarence Eben, Leslie Eben and Tanner Knode.
Memorials may be given to Welcome Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
