Dear Zimmerman Family,
Paula and I have such fond memories of our relationship with Evelyn and Dan; memories that go back over thrity years. Both were such faithful and dedicated servants of the Lord of the Church. Dan was a very humble and in some ways uncomplicated servant, and in that was his marvelous example to many of us pastors, of what it means to be an ordained servant in the Church of Jesus Christ. We give thanks to the Lord of the Church for allowing us to know him and to receive his witness. May the Lord sustain you all, and keep you in God's care. Peace, Paula and Kenneth Moerbe

Dear Sarah, Although I did not know your dad personally, I sense he was a wonderful shepherd to many during his time on this earth. I know you will miss him, but just as God enfolds your dad in his loving arms now, likewise, God's loving arms enfold you with special tenderness during this trying time. I wish I could be with you to wrap my arms around you in love and deepest sympathy. Blessings to you and all of the Zimmermann family, Charlene Spillmann

Thanks be to God for the life and witness of Pastor Dan!. I remember visiting with him and Evelyn during a synodical women's conference years back, and swapping stories about the joys of rural ministry. It was Pastor Dan who advised me, with a gentle grin, to always lock my truck doors (something we NEVER did out in the country) during zucchini squash season, unless, of course, I really liked zucchini! I'll always remember how he loved the Lord and His people, pranks and all. Lord, receive your servant Dan into the arms of your mercy, and comfort all who mourn and give thanks for his life and witness.

What a celebration of life. A true example of a man who was a humble servant to his Master, Jesus Christ. I was blessed to be under his ministry in my childhood.
May God's peace be with you in this time of grieving for your loss.
