Obituary

Quin Dell Kroll, 87 of Brenham, passed away November 16, 2020.

Quin Dell Kroll was born October 31, 1933 in the Greenvine Community of Washington County. He made sure that anyone who asked his birth date knew that he was a Halloween baby. He was the only child born to parents Albert Ernst and Hilda Lisette Marie (Kohring) Kroll. Quin Dell was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine.

He was a graduate of Boundary School. Later, he was coordinator of their class reunions. Quin Dell was also a graduate of Burton High School. He drove a school bus. Quin Dell served in the US Army. On July 4, 1952, he married Jean Pindale in Burton, Texas. The couple then moved to Houston, where he attended mortuary college. He became a licensed funeral director and embalmer working at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home in Houston. Quin Dell was ambitious and attended night school at the University of Houston. In 1975, he received his Bachelor of Mechanical Technology Degree. He worked as an engineer for Norriseal Controls which later became Dover Corporation. Upon retirement in 2001, he was chief engineer there.

Quin Dell and Jean returned to Washington County. He was involved with the Washington County Genealogy Society and was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving loving family includes wife Jean Kroll and son Quin Dell “Chip” Kroll, Jr.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

A private burial will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.

Memorials are requested to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Brenham.
