Obituary

Ralph Wayne “Butch” Marth, 66 of Carmine passed away Friday, August 9, 2013.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12th at 10 a.m. in Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine with Rev. David Tinker officiating. Burial will follow in Carmine Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charlie Adamcik, Johnny Dunham, Randall Kohring, Kenneth Levien, Jr., Gaylon Mueller, Luke Sternadel, Douglas Ullrich, and Gerald Weigelt.

Butch was born Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1946 at home in Carmine to Reinhard and Anita (Oberrender) Marth. He was also baptized at home August 3, 1947 and confirmed May 21, 1961 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. He was a 1965 graduate of Round Top-Carmine High School and attended San Jacinto College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. On June 24, 1972, he married Elsa Lozano in Somerville. He owned Marth Sheet Metal and Roofing. Butch enjoyed gardening, raising birds, cooking, canning and will be remembered for his BBQ and pickles at local fundraisers.

His parents, wife Elsa Marth, and sister Ruth “Tootsie” Schneider preceded him in death.

His loving family includes: children and their spouses, Tiffani and Toby Brooks of Carmine, Brandon and Kristie Marth of Brenham, Samantha and Chris Medack of Giddings; grandchildren, Tori Brooks, Tana Brooks, Emma Marth, Paige Marth, Tyler Marth, Austen Marth, Caden Medack; sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Jack Littlejohn; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.J. and Anna Dell Marth, W.T. and Dorothy Marth; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Renee Mantey; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine or the Carmine Hall.
