Obituary

Ramonia Wiltsey Buchanan was born on October 23, 1964 in Gatesville, Texas to LaWanda Jean Brown and Carl Wiltsey. She was employed by the City of Bandera, Texas in the Public Water Systems Division. Ramonia fell ill while attending a Public Water Systems conference in Eagle Pass, Texas on Friday, December 6, 2019 and died at her residence in Bandera in the afternoon of December 7, 2019.

Ramonia was predeceased by her parents and also by her late husband, Al Buchanan in 1994.

In her career, Ramonia had been employed by the State of Texas and also managed public water systems in Alpine, Texas and Sonora, Texas. She enjoyed her work ensuring that Texas families had safe drinking water in their homes and places of work.

Ramonia was a wonderful mother to her children. Her children are Brandt Buchanan, a senior at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, Candace Buchanan of Brenham, Texas, John Boerschig II, a freshman at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and Heidi Boerschig, a senior in high school at the British International School of Houston in Katy, Texas. Ramonia is also survived by five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Wiltsey of Tyler, Texas and her sisters Carla Briggs of Temple, Texas and Dana Pratt of Troy, Texas.

Services are at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 at Brenham’s First Baptist Church located at 304 N Market Street in Brenham. A reception after the service will be held at the adjoining Sycamore House. Ramonia will be buried at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Her heartbroken children would like to remind everyone that symptoms of an impending heart attack in women can be very different than those in men. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to the American Heart Association.
