Obituary

Randall Wesley Willoughby, age 73, of Brenham, Texas, passed away on August 16, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Independence, Missouri, to Lloyd Wesley Willoughby and Margaret Lynn Markley, Randy grew up with a love for family and the simple joys of life. He graduated from Truman High School, embarking on a life journey that combined hard work, curiosity, and laughter.
Randy married the love of his life, Sandra and they spent 38 wonderful years together. They built a life filled with humor, adventures, shared passions, and cherished memories. Randy worked as a Board Operator in the oil and gas industry, where his dedication and skill earned him the respect of colleagues and friends.

Outside of work, Randy found joy in traveling, cooking, photography, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He had a sharp wit and a warm humor that brought light to any gathering. His camera lens often captured the beauty of nature, and his deep appreciation for the outdoors mirrored his compassionate spirit.

Randy had a special bond with his granddaughter Willow, who brought laughter, and joy into his life.

Randy also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog and cat, who brought him comfort and joy. Known as the “fun uncle,” he brought laughter and excitement to his nieces and nephews, creating memories they will forever treasure.

Randy is survived by his wife, Sandra; children Todd Willoughby and wife Becky, Amy Godwin and fiancé Bruce Margolis, and Kristy Godwin; grandchild Willow; sisters Dixie Kalwei and husband Tom of Lee’s Summit, MO and Debbie Culver of Independence, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Margaret Willoughby, brothers Patrick Lynn Willoughby and Lee (Buzzy) Lloyd Willoughby and sister Sandra Jean Smith.
