Obituary

Born October 8, 1958 in Pensacola, Florida, Renee Ballard Diehl was the firstborn of Harold and Rita Ballard. A young and loving couple who survive her today. She is also survived by a beloved younger sister, Angela Ballard. As a family they spent many hours outdoors on beaches or camping and fishing on lakes. Renee lived a full and happy life and was happiest when out of doors. She was blessed when her future mother in law, Maggie, introduced her to Maggie’s middle son Matthew. They fell in love, married and made life work together for over 42 years. Their two children Jennifer and Christopher were her heart’s delight and in whom she could not be more pleased. After daughter Jennifer married Kevin, who became like a second son, and made their home in New Hampshire, many trips were made to enjoy the New England grandchildren, family and of course outdoors!

Her recent work in real estate afforded her the opportunity to step outside her guarded persona and meet so many wonderful people. For almost two years she enjoyed working side by side with son Christopher in real estate where he has picked up the torch and is running with it.

Being young at heart she very much enjoyed interacting with children, especially the children and mentors of her church’s After School Program. She was blessed to have moved to Round Top over 20 years ago to enjoy the fellowship of a small country church and outdoor life in wide open spaces. Her new address is with her loving Savior where there is no more pain or sorrow and where there is nothing but abounding genuine love.

Preceded in death by her father in law, George T. Diehl.

Survived by her parents Harold and Rita Ballard and Sister Angela, Maggie Diehl, Matthew Diehl, Christopher Diehl, Jenn, Kevin J., Eva, Ryan, Sarah, and Kevin M. Broadbent, Brother and sister in laws Mark and Kate, and their children Catherine Ann, Sara Jane, John Thomas, his wife Nayna Diehl and daughter Aurora Diehl, Michael and Amy and their daughter Amber Diehl as well as many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
