Rev. Daniel Escamilla of Brenham passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 in VA Hospital in Temple, TX
Rev. Escamilla was born in Dumas, TX to Emeterio V. Escamilla and Manuela Alvarado Escamilla and baptized in the Pentecostal faith at El Templo in Dallas, TX by Brother Crescent Mendez, Sr. On August 16, 1975 he married Margie Villarreal at the Assembly of God Church in Seminole, TX by Rev. Godfrey Barela. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Rev. Escamilla was Director of Faith Mission, which he help start in 1986 and also the Pastor of Emmanuel Iglesia Pentecostal Church in Brenham. He served on the International Conference of Christian Ministries, traveled and visited churches all over Texas where he did preaching and evangelizing. When at home, he always had some type of church projects on which to work. Family was important to him and made sure they had time together and was a jack of all trades.
His parents, Emeterio and Manuela Escamilla and sister Maria Escamilla preceded him in death.
His loving family includes wife Margie Escamilla of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Melinda and Jeremiah Alvarez of College Station, TX, Pauline and Jorge Donate of Brenham, Denise Escamilla of Brenham and future son-in-law Joseph R. Harper of Bossier City, LA, both presently stationed in Iraq serving our country with the United States Army; six grandchildren; brothers Edwardo Escamilla of Corpus Christi, TX, David Escamilla of Grand Prairie, TX, Emeterio Escamilla, Jr. of Torrington, Wyoming, Israel Escamilla of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; sisters Esther Garcia and Elida Gamel both of Torrington, Wyoming.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2007 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Services are at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2007 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Francisco Benavides officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Edwardo Escamilla, David Escamilla, Emeterio Escamilla, Jr., Israel Escamilla, Jeremiah Alvarez and Jorge Donate. Honorary pallbearers are Nevilee Lauter, Soleda Romo, Raymond De Los Santos, Dr. Randy and Vicki Harper.
