Reverend Sam Duree was the most down-to-earth, amazing minister I have ever known! I am truly proud and privileged to have known him. He started the small church in the Alameda-Genoa Road/Houston area where my family and I lived at the time, and we attended his church there.I was working at NASA-MSC in Clear Lake, my ex-husband ( USAF) was stationed at Ellington Field. Rev Sam Duree was a very special person; he had worked at many jobs before becoming a minister...one being a lumber-jack. Sam visited/toured the NASA MSC (Manned Spacecraft Center) and met most all the Mercury Astronauts and perhaps the Gemini Astronauts, as well...I am certain they were just as impressed with the goodness and enthusiasm of Rev Sam Duree as he was impressed with their feats in space. I will never forget this wonderful person - he was indeed a well-rounded minister that appealed to all people! GOD BLESS HIS SOUL AND GOD BLESS THE FAMILY HE LEFT BEHIND. I KNOW HE'S VERY BUSY IN HEAVEN HELPING GOD WITH HIS WORKS AND SAM WILL BE BOUNCHING FROM CLOUD TO CLOUD IN HIS "SPARE TIME" CHEERING UP ALL SOULS! If there were more ministers such as Sam, every Human Being would be a Christian!

Sorry to have been out of town during Sam's service. We thought the world of this wonderful man and will never forget him. One can only wonder how many people Sam helped in his long and dedicated lifetime.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear Beverly and all the Duree family,
I’m so sorry for the loss of Sam, as he was truly a great man!
I so cherish my memories of the mission trip to Costa Rica in 2004!
Our time together on this earth is always too short in some way, and I will forever wish that I could have seen Sam one more time!
May God bless you and keep you in this difficult time.
