Obituary

Richard Clay Womack died peacefully in his home on June 13, 2007.

He was born on March 11, 1937, in Houston, Texas, the youngest of three sons born to Frank E. Womack and Lillian Smith Womack.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of twenty years, Nancy Cutler Womack. He said of Nancy many times that she was the “perfect love of his life”. Also surviving him are his two elder brothers Sterling Frank Womack of Chappell Hill, Texas, and Frank E. Womack of Cadiz, Kentucky. Devoted to his memory now are his stepchildren Maryann Waters of Orange Lake, FL., John Shuhart of Dallas, TX., and Michael Redner of Philadelphia, PA., along with eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his son Allen Clay Womack. Richard attended Brenham High School but graduated from San Jacinto High in Houston. He also served our nation in the U.S. Air Force as an electronics and radar specialist. For 19 years, until his death, he was a design engineer for Pipeline Inspection, Inc., contributing many innovations to their products. His after hours were spent in a love of “blues” music, and the “oldies” of the fifties. He spent hours restoring classic cars and working with digital photography (teaching classes at HAL-PC).

The family, and particularly Nancy, would like to thank Dr. Paul Y. Holoye, oncologist, for his creative and caring attendance to Richard throughout his illness.

Memorial services will be held on Wed., June 20, at 3:00 p.m., at Westminster United Methodist Church, 5801 San Felipe, Houston, TX 77056.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Liver Foundation, 2425 West Loop South #840, Houston, Texas 77027.
