Obituary
Richard Corn, 61 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at College Station Medical Center.
Richard was born April 4, 1951 in Ironton, Ohio to George and Alice (Dixon) Corn. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School in Kitts Hill, Ohio and attended Ohio University Southern Campus. He moved to Texas in 1981. For many years, he served as a deputy sheriff with Galveston and Austin counties. Presently, he was an independent insurance appraiser. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Richard was a very generous person, always putting others first. He delighted in his grandchildren. He enjoyed boating, jet skiing, and riding motorcycles. Richard loved his Texas BBQ.
He was preceded in death by parents and infant brother Benjamin “Bennie” Corn.
His loving family includes: sister and brother-in-law, Leah and Jack Steele of Kentucky; daughters and son-in-law Tina and B.J. Herrin of Burton and Sara Corn and J.R. Sanchez of Giddings; grandchildren, Hannah and Haeleah Herrin and Lilly Sanchez; niece Erica Gee.
Viewing and visitation will be Monday, June 25th from 6-8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 26th at 10 a.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Interment follows in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Hill, Colby Hill, Matthew Caldwell, Chris Pampell, Kenneth Merian, Scott Tambourine, and Spenser Ganske. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Kastoria and Steve Horner.
Memorials may be given to Fallen Police Officers Association.
