Rita (Kenjura) Dahse

Rita Dahse, 79 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Rita Marie Kenjura was born in Brenham, September 28, 1938 to Harry and Helen (Wendt) Kenjura. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a graduate of Brenham High School. Rita and Melvin Lee Dahse were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In her many years working in the community, she was employed at The New York Store, Farm & Home Center, BISD and Design II.

She was devoted to family, caring for her mother for many years. She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She provided many desserts and canned goods for church fundraisers. Rita loved gardening and selling canned goods at the downtown Farmer’s Market. Salsa was her specialty. She also loved growing flowers and caring for her yard.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Lee and Ida Dahse; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike Kubeczka, Norbert and Thelma Dahse.

Surviving loving family includes: husband of 58 years, Melvin L. Dahse; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Ernest Witte, Harriet and Howard Grebe; sister-in-law, Ella Mae Dahse; nieces and nephews, Claudia and Ronnie Walla, Mike and Karen Kubeczka, Marty and Janice Kubeczka; great nieces and great nephews, Colten Walla, Dalton Walla, Nicole and Chris Porsche, Crystal and Joe Hinds; great-great nieces, Katelyn Porsche and Kinsley Porsche.

As was her request, Rita will be cremated and a private family memorialization will be held.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
