Robert "Bob" Armour

Robert “Bob” Armour, Sr., age 88 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 16 from 4-6 p.m. with rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ernesto Elizondo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Robert James Armour was born September 13, 1931 in Cranston, Rhode Island to parents Phillip and Lillian (Hopkins) Armour. He grew up there and in 1952 married Emily Baptiste also in Cranston. Bob joined the Navy, serving four years as clerk typist. Upon returning home, he worked in the grocery business. Bob soon sought other endeavors in industrial pipe fabrication. Advancing in his career and with the support of his wife, the couple moved to several different states for his work. They also lived in Europe and then in Houston. Bob and family enjoyed barbeques at their country home near Bellville.

Upon retirement, Bob and Emily moved to Brenham. Here, Bob became very active in the community. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a volunteer at Brenham State School and Citizen’s on Patrol.

He was preceded in death by parents, daughter Christine “Chis” Griffin and sister Lillian Abbott.

Surviving loving family includes: wife Emily Armour; sons Tom Armour and wife Amanda Ninh, Robert Armour, Jr.; daughter Jeane Armour; grandson Ryan Armour; great-granddaughter Angelcia Armour; brother Richard Armour.

Pallbearers will be Sgt. Todd Ashorn, Capt. Lloyd Powell, Lt. Kelvin Raven, Lt. Rob Aguilar, Tex Davis and Bob Cothern.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Citizen’s on Patrol or Hospice Brazos Valley.
