Robert "Bob" Lee Jenkins

Robert “Bob” Lee Jenkins, 71, ascended into heaven on Friday, May 25, 2018.

He was born in Sugar Land, Texas, on June 5, 1946 to Dr. Edward Everett Jenkins and Sue Mitchell Jenkins. Bob was raised in Sugar Land and Bellaire and was a graduate of Florida Air Academy and St. Thomas University, Houston, Texas. He spent his entire career in the insurance business, and was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He never met a stranger and cherished his many friends and acquaintances.

Bob married Susan Jones in July 1972 in Bellaire, Texas. He and Susan moved to Brenham in 1980 and came to love this community and their friends. Bob was an avid Cub fan and loved attending the football and baseball games. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Brenham, Sons of the American Revolution and Sons of the Confederacy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Jones Jenkins; son, Mitchell and wife Julie, of Spring, Texas and daughter, Katherine of Brenham. Grumps also leaves his granddaughter, Sydney Jenkins, as well as sister-in-law and brother-in law, Kathy and Charles Parra of Spring.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Brenham, 408 N. Baylor St., on Friday, June 1st at 11 a.m. The family will share memories at a reception in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
