Robert (Bob) Smith, Jr.

Robert (Bob) Smith, Junior passed away Saturday, October 20th at Estrella Oaks in Georgetown, Texas. He was born December 7, 1939 in Brenham, Texas to Robert and Lillian (Schaer) Smith. He is survived by his son, Kevin Smith, daughter Rachel Spall, granddaughters Ashley Smith, Chloe Spall, and Ava Spall, companion Sharon Red, and numerous cousins.

Bob graduated from Tarleton State University with a B. S. in Chemistry. He worked at MD Anderson in research, taught high school in CyFair, worked at Columbia Scientific Research in Austin as a computer operator, and the Texas Health Department as a programmer and computer analyst.

Ballroom dancing and any outdoor activity occupied most of his time. He had a passion for airplanes, which he regularly flew in the 1970's around Texas. He volunteered with Faith in Action, Habitat for Humanity, First Baptist Church Austin missions to Juarez, and many more organizations. He had a giving spirit and lived life strongly believing in committing acts of random kindness.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brenham Memorial Chapel.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Brenham Memorial Chapel followed by a graveside service in the Masonic Cemetery of Chappell Hill.

A memorial service will also be held Saturday, October 27th at First Baptist Church of Austin at 10:00 a.m.
