Robert Louis Hill

Robert Louis Hill joined his “bride” of 65 years, Willie Mae Kurtz Hill, in the House of their Lord on March 27, 2005.

He was born April 26, 1916 in San Felipe, Texas. Bob was a loving husband, a devoted father and a man whose tireless efforts for his church and community were well known.

He was the president of several insurance companies and a member of the Texas Industrial Accident Board. He was a member and officer of many volunteer organizations, serving as a National Vice President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and a lifetime member of the Houston Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Brenham, including proudly serving on its board.

His survivors include his children and their spouses Jenean and Jim Tucker, Sandra and Dr. Don Sumerlin, and Bob and Ginnea Hill; his grandchildren and their spouses Trey Tucker, Tiffany and Mike Barcik, Tara and Beau Duarte, Marc and Cassandra Sumerlin, Derick Sumerlin and Bobby Hill; his great-grandchildren Rand, Rhys and Remy Duarte, Austin and Quinn Sumerlin, and Lily Mae Barcik and his sister Florence Boyd.

Memorial services will be held in the First United Methodist Church of Brenham at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. The Dr. Wesley Welborn and Rev. Sam Duree will officiate.
