My heart is saddened by this heartbreaking news I can't help but shed some tears for this one. "Mr. Parker" changed me and shaped my life in ways not many would understand. He made me find a love of art like no one ever had. He was a light in my highschool days. He not only taught me love for art but also appreciation of great music too. He lead our art club weekly after school as we prepared huge banners for football pep rallies and games!! We would rock out the art room for those 3 hrs and those are some of my greatest memories. I still would go back to the highschool to visit him ocassionaly after I was done with highschool. He continued to push me to be creative and to make something of my life. I was in a dark spot at the tender age of 20 I had lost my grandfather and was really struggling to be someone and to get on with adulthood. He went into his art closet for about 30 min and returned with 6 pieces of my highschool artwork he had saved for the last several years. He then proceeded to give me a number to The Art Institute of Houston and told me to ask for a guy in admittance named Cliff. Two months later I started my college days at AIH and a few years later graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. He was an amazing man. I haven't seen him in years but I did send him a digital copy of my AIH portfolio and buisness card after graduation. I probably should have made more effort to keep in touch and thank him but life gets busy. So thank you Mr. Parker for being the man you were...while you're up there paint us a sunset please or just one of those cartoon characters you made us draw every morning in our warm up journel.??? sending love and prayers to Ms. Parker, Jonathan, and Matt. I am so sorry for your loss.

Parker family,
I am so saddened to hear of this tremendous loss. I had the benefit of being one of your dad's many students and remember his constant enthusiasm for all things creative. Thinking of you in this time of terrific grief. Sincerely, Sarah Bullock McIntyre

To the Parker Family: Our deepest sympathies on the loss of Rob. We taught together for 30 years and laughed and worked together on prom projects, the most notable being " King Tut". Yes, I knew of his Italian ancestry and he left us too early. I loved his smile. Ruth and sons and families, he loved you all.

The obituary described him well and made us miss him even more. My husband and I were fortunate to know him.

God be with you all!

Thanks for helping me unlock the artistic side of my brain, and for helping me see that perspective is so important, not only in art, but also in life. You made a huge difference for so many, and while I'm sad to see you go, I am comforted to know that you have now met your great reward. Condolences to Mrs. Parker, Matt, Jon, and the rest of the family!!!!

Mr. Parker will be missed. I was one of his students (2000-2001) who followed his lead and am now a Creative Manager. I wouldn’t be where I am without him. Thank you Mr. Parker. Rest in Peace.
