Obituary
Robert R. Lucius, Sr. was born June 3, 1933 in Lansing, Michigan. He passed from this life, at the age of 73, on July 28, 2006 after suffering a stroke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Erna (Kremin) Lucius; sister, Eleanor Ezell; grandson, Kevin Edward Conway; and 7 years ago, son Robert R. Lucius Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, of almost 55 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Lanny Conway; one daughter-in-law, Karen King Lucius; his 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Carl and Kelly Lucius, Charlene and Johnny Escobar, Carie and Michael Kubeczka, Casey and Jayci Lucius, Calvin and Chellie Lucius, Shanna Lucius Smith, Melanie Conway, Becky Conway, Bobby and Amanda Lucius, and Mary Helen Conway; 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Carl Jr., Nikki, Eric, Kaylynn, Adam, Justin, Cullen, Chandler, Makenli, Shelby, Bailie, Wyatt, Alexis and Richy; two nephews, Skip and Eddie Ezell, their spouses and children.
In his early years he was in the U.S. Navy Reserves where he served as an electrician’s mate on the submarines for eight years. Bob had over 50 years in the Carpenter Union, most of it in Houston 551. He worked on many commercial buildings in the downtown Houston area, including the Gulf building for several years, as well as residential projects. In his spare time he built our family homes, five, over the years, in Florida and Texas. He always added special touches, such as wall size rock fireplaces, extra storeage space and most anything that Charlotte wanted. He took great pride in building his homes from the ground up. He had begun to share with his great grandsons the skill of carpentry.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and in the past few years some light farming. He loved traveling. He traveled 25,000 miles by car last year. They had just recently gone on their first trip to Alaska. He was a loving and hardworking man and will forever be missed by his friends and family. He will be in our hearts always.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 11 a.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Mr. Charles Matejowsky officiating. Following the service the family will have fellowship with friends in the family reception room at the funeral home.
