Robert (Rob) Francis Siegel

Robert “Rob” Francis Siegel, 60, of Brenham passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 27, 2010.

Rob was born June 22, 1949 in Freeport, Texas to parents Rudolph and Josephine (Korenek) Siegel. His baptism on July 3, 1949, first communion on March 11, 1956 and confirmation on May 17, 1960 were at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport. He attended St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic School, was a 1968 graduate of Brazosport High School in Freeport and a 1972 graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin with a BBA in Sales and Marketing. On March 24, 1990, he was united in marriage to Karen Schulze in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham by Rev. Kenneth Moerbe. Rob was retired from Leggett & Platt and Carpenter, Inc. He enjoyed woodworking and supporting the Brenham Dolphin swim team.

His parents, sisters Leona, Gladys and JoAnn and brother-in-law Benton W. Schulze III preceded him in death.

Survived by his loving family wife Karen Schulze Siegel of Brenham; mother-in-law Gennie Schulze of Brenham; sons and daughter-in-law Brandon and Courtney Benson of Brenham and Brigham Benson of Nacogdoches; daughters Kara Siegel of Houston, Haley Siegel of Lake Jackson and Megan Siegel of Sugar Land; grandchildren Landon and Brinley Benson; sisters Irene Doody of Tempe, Arizona, Mary Foshee of Lake Jackson; sister-in-law Kay Schulze of Brenham; nephews Benton W. Schulze IV and Chase Morgan Schulze of Brenham; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends Mark Bouliane, Kathy and Jimmy Hanna and Randy Smith.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday May 30, 2010 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Bade officiating.
