Ronald M. Dominy, 79 of Burton, Texas passed away on Sunday December 28, 2025 in Houston, Texas.

Ronald Max Dominy was born on August 5, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Velda (Moore) and Dewey Dominy. He completed high school in Houston and graduated from the University of Houston with a Master’s in Education Degree.

On November 10, 1969 he married Jean Coleman in Houston, Texas at Faith Memorial Baptist Church.

Ron was a born teacher, whether it was teaching history to young people or teaching others about his strong Christian Faith. Ron began his teaching career in the classroom and then continued on to become an Assistant Principal at Marshall Middle School. He later became the Principal at Will Rogers Elementary and Assistant Principal at Lamar High School. His love of education lasted for over 40 years. He was employed by Houston Independent School District for his entire career. He was blessed with wonderful teacher friends and students. He spoke of them often and kept in touch with many.

Ron lived in Houston for over 70 years before moving to Washington County in 2020 where he could be closer to family and friends. He was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist church for 69 years and was a current member and retired Deacon of First Baptist Church in Burton, Texas. He often taught Sunday school. He participated in weekly Zoom meetings with friends studying the Bible. Ron was a man that lived his life for the Lord. He read the Bible daily and was a testimony of the goodness of God.

He is preceded in death by: his parents and his sister Nelda Muehlbrad.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Dominy; brother, Jerry (Joann) Dominy; sister-in-law Carol (Allan) Ewing and brother-in-law Ray (Zenaida) Coleman.

He was a special uncle to Alan (Melinda) Dominy, Nell Muehlbrad, David (Kimberly) Domily, Ruthie (Bob) Kirkwood, Jason (Marie) Coleman, Jacque (Michael) Faat, Bobby Moffit, Steven (Shelly) Moffit and Johnny Levitski and all their families. Ron always had his phone nearby and would call and check up on them. He always looked forward to family reunions and stayed in touch with family members. His love for his family was visible in every way. Ron loved spending time visiting family in Groveton and Kennard Texas. He had a special love of outdoors especially hunting and fishing in Michigan with the Coleman family. He could be found many evenings sitting on his back porch enjoying the sights and sounds of the country.

Ron was a fine Christian man that the Lord called home. We know that he was welcomed by both family and friends and they have not stopped talking yet! While we will miss him greatly, we know where he is and that we will see him again which brings great comfort to those left behind.
