Obituary

Ruby (Hopmann) Naumann at the age of 97 years passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018. In Brenham.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service for Ruby Naumann will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7
in Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Ruby Bertha Auguste Hopmann was born January 20, 1921 in New Wehdem Community to parents Emil and Emma (Richter) Hopmann. She was baptized March 30, 1921 by Pastor H. Poehlmann at St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem and confirmed there on April 5, 1936 by Pastor R. A. Schmidt. She also attended school in New Wehdem. On September 12, 1940 she was united in marriage to Herbert Louis Naumann also at St. James by Pastor Flachmeier. Their attendants were Arnold Naumann and Elsie Pieper.

Having been employed at Spring Branch ISD for twenty-one (21) years, she and Mr. Naumann moved back to Brenham in 1982 after they both retired. She and Herbert loved to dance, fish and play cards, dominoes and Bingo. They also enjoyed camping with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Herbert; son-in-law, Peter C. Moller; sister Lillie Tiemann and brother-in-law Erwin; brothers Raymond Hopmann and Lonnie Hopmann and sister-in-law Mildred; several nieces and several nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Arnold and Evelyn Naumann; Elsie N. and Otto Kemper; Erna N. and Erwin Grawunder; Lillie Mae N. and Johnnie Kramer; Nora N. and Lee Roy Meier and brother-in-law Dan Kelling

Loving family who survives are daughter Carolyn Moller in Friendswood, Texas; two (2) granddaughters Kristina Haynes and husband Philip Haynes of Friendswood; Stephanie Simpson and husband Reagan of Overland Park, Kansas; seven (7) great-grandchildren Carter, Logan and Ashley Haynes; Cooper, Cannon, Smith and Miller Simpson; sister-in-law Ruth Kelling, numerous nieces and numerous nephews.

Special thanks to Geneva Martin, Beth Appel, Jenny Warchesik and Chastity Moore along with other caregivers at Argent Court and Brazos Valley Hospice, Brenham.

Pallbearers will be Julian Martin, Ray Hopmann, Jeff Appel, Ken Kramer,Donald Meier, Otto Kemper, Darrel Meier, Ron Kelling and Charles Wade.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hopmann, Don Hopmann, Charles Kemper and Robert Wubbenhorst.
